For this project we were asked to make the new addition on a home in Maine a little less prominent. It sits close to a driveway and the owners were hopeful that we could scale it back with judicious and interesting planting while allowing easy access along paths. We used a northern and deer resistant collection of plants. The scale of plants varied from quite large trees to carpets of moss. The plantings lean heavily toward conifers. Spruces and pines and high-branched white cedar dominate with some maple and birch included. The paths and terrace are granite. The before and after shots are two months apart.
